Thursday, 29th November 2018: EvoWood, a wood engineering brand launched its maiden experience centre in Mumbai at Laxmi Industrial Estate, Andheri West which is one of the main hubs for interiors in Mumbai. Launched in 2017 by Mr. Atul Marwah, a 4th generation woodpreneur, the brand is all set to expand to various cities to provide versatile solution for manifold interior and structural applications in homes, offices, hotels etc.
The newly opened store in Mumbai offers the brand’s exclusive collection of engineered wood products such as EvoLlae – thin 3.5mm sheets, EvoLumber- ready to use processed lumber and EvoBoards – the finger jointed boards.
On occasion of the launch, Mr. Avijit Marwah, Director, Evowood said, “We are very excited with our launch in Mumbai as the Maximum city hosts real patrons of art and creativity. With our products, we aim to satiate the creative hunger of the architects and interior designers of Mumbai. In today’s day and age, every industry is undergoing major developments and innovations, but unfortunately, woodworking has not witnessed the kind of change that is possible, especially considering the fact that it is one of the longest standing building material in existence. The creativity and versatility that wood provides are enormous but at the same time woodworking requires a lot of skill and knowledge. There aren’t enough players in the industry today with the right knowledge and expertise. As someone who has seen wood being a part of our day to day conversations, I feel it is not only imperative but our responsibility to bring back the charm of woodworking in its contemporary scenario. We hope to make EvoWood synonymous to woodworking.”

Graduated from Govt. College, Chandigarh, Mr. Atul Marwah did his MBA and MA in history from Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar). With over 30 years of experience in the timber and manufacturing industry, his knowledge and passion for wood led him to create EvoWood to provide innovative wood solutions that never existed in the industry.
About Mr. Avijit Marwah, Director, EvoWood
Mr. Avijit Marwah did his schooling from GD Goenka Public School in Delhi and graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2010 with a degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. Following the legacy of wood in the family, Avijit, a 5th generation entrepreneur co-founded a startup in the modular kitchens and furniture space called Modspace in 2015; which has been acquired by another company in the interior space. Mr. Avijit Marwah comes with a rich experience of more than 8 years in manufacturing and operations in the woodworking and the modular industry.
